On Saturday, November 30th, join other bird enthusiasts in a brisk morning bird walk! Fall is the perfect time for birdwatching, because of how many species take part in fall migration. Located in Deer Haven Park, join staff for a hike through the park, and spot birds flitting around the branches. No experience is necessary! All skill levels are welcome, and loaner binoculars are available.
Columbus Winterfair is an annual arts and crafts festival at the Ohio Expo Center and State fair. Featuring a wide collection of ceramics, glass, sculptures and more from artists from across the country, Winterfair is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. You can find anything from handmade pottery, to your next favorite photograph. Running from December 6-8, tickets are just $7. Come check out some of the best vendors and artists the country has to offer.
If you’re more interested in the ‘crafts’ part of ‘arts & crafts,’ be sure to check out the Fresh Holiday wreath Workshop on December 10th. This fun, hands on workshop teaches you how to create the perfect fresh holiday wreath. Using fresh seeded eucalyptus, fresh cedar and pine cones, you and your friends can put together wreaths your way. All materials are included in the ticket price, along with the complimentary hot chocolate bar and assorted cookies!
From December 6-8th, remember what it means to come home for the holidays, with the annual Home for the Holidays Weekend! Friday night features the annual tree lighting, along with live music, horse drawn carriages, and even Santa. On Saturday, enjoy holiday shopping up and down Main street, and get ready for the Holiday Shopping Extravaganza! Participating businesses will be giving out stamps with purchases, for a chance to win Chocolate Walk Tickets. Finally, Sunday wraps up the weekend with the annual Home for the Holidays Parade, starting at 3pm from Mingo Park.
